The only rules they added were two special abilities added to halflings, and that's all. All the rest was core AD&D, and it worked like a charm. Recently, I have been re-running the original DL modules for a group of newbies. We started with AD&D1e, but as the game progressed, we felt that an even simpler approach could work, so we shifted to Mentzer D&D, and it worked even better. You don't see dwarven clerics as adventurers, nor elven rangers etc. All of the companions could be run as simple D&D classes! Anyway, you did an outstanding job with this 4e conversion.

Cheers,
AntonioUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16831826918500597792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6112301943940591918.post-65439567630101103762009-09-30T10:11:04.852-06:002009-09-30T10:11:04.852-06:00Absolutely. Maybe things will feel different when and if they ever increase the homebrew functionality.

In any event, in past personal projects I've done I had always loved detailing NPCs and every little corner of the world -- but you can start to feel really burned out when you realize that your players will never see 90% of your work. I'm finding working on exactly what's needed, no more and no less, to be really refreshing and it keeps the work fun too!WotL4Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04394025320331288203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6112301943940591918.post-80493362713480517532009-09-29T18:18:41.240-06:002009-09-29T18:18:41.240-06:00As someone who has worked very hard converting Dra...As someone who has worked very hard converting Dragonlance materials to 3rd edition, I find myself approaching 4e a bit differently.

Maybe it's due to character builder, or maybe I'm burned out. Or maybe the mechanics are different enough to make me re-think my approach.

Whatever the case, I find myself approaching 4e conversions from the POV of narrativism as well.Dragonhelmhttp://www.dlnexus.comnoreply@blogger.com
